Federalberghi da oltre cento anni è l'organizzazione nazionale maggiormente rappresentativa degli albergatori italiani

Piano di Sorrento

The most important shipyards of Europe were located here in the nineteenth century. In Marina di Cassano, a sailor’s village, wood craftsmen may be found yet. In the town centre, in Caruotto neighbourhood, an important fruit and vegetables market takes place every week. The historical Orange Orchard, a citrus grove dating back to the nineteenth century, is also to be visited.
The town hosts Villa Fondi which was once the neoclassical residence of De Sangros of Fondi, surrounded by a park rich in Mediterranean vegetation, and the seat of the local archeological museum dedicated to Georget Vallet. Considered a national historic building, Villa Fondi keeps antiquities discovered over the centuries and attests to the history of the Sorrentine Coast from 2000 B.C. to the Roman Age. Having become a part of the town property, the Villa is today open to the public.
Colli di San Pietro, located uphill below Mount Vico Alvano is rich in flowers typical of the lower Mediterranean vegetation and well deserves a visit. From here breathless views may be enjoyed.
